That preceded:
- On September 17, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the military Ombudsman in the second reading and as a whole. The law was supported by 283 deputies.
- The Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Servicemen Olga Reshetilov congratulated the Verkhovna Rada of the Law on the Military Ombudsman and informed that she would continue his activity as a time of establishing the office of the military Ombudsman.
- Reshetilov in a comment to “Ukrainian Truth” explained that her position of Presidential Commissioner and the position of military Ombudsman, who by her decision created the Verkhovna Rada, is two different positions.
