The number of places for a bachelor’s degree in higher education institutions in Ukraine exceeds the real number of students. In particular, this year, 429 thousand entrants were ready to accept higher education, while only about 200,000 people were filed for entry.

Director of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education for Science Oleg Sharov on the air of a single television marathon explainedthat this situation is the result of a demographic crisis that began many years ago.

“We took half a million people a year for a bachelor’s degree 17-20 years ago. – said Sharov.

According to him, at present, by mid -October, many higher education institutions are picking up entrants.

“But these 400 thousand will not be dumped, these entrants simply are not physically. It is necessary to understand that the total number of opportunities of the IVF for a long time for a long time more than the number of people who want and can get higher education. In principle, it is a feature not only of Ukraine,” Said the official.

In addition, Oleg Sharov is convinced that this imbalance does not harm the state budget, since the budget order is formed in accordance with the real number of entrants and the demographic situation in the country, and not on the basis of the total number of places that can be offered by higher education.
