It is unlikely that at this stage the EU will introduce a full ban on the issuance of tourist visas for Russian citizens, said Radio Liberty Radio Liberty Ricard Jezvyak.

Earlier, Radio Liberty reported that one of the potential key suggestions in a new package of sanctions is to restrict tourist visas by introducing stricter rules and further limiting the number of diplomats in the block. The new sanction package was expected to be presented on September 17. However, his presentation was postponed.

According to Politico, the European Commission has informed the ambassadors of the EU countries that the sanction package should be expected on September 19 or September 22. Two diplomats have told the publication that some officials were hoping for an earlier publication.
