- On November 18, 2024, at that time, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov announced that a military Ombudsman would appear in Ukraine, who will be taken care of by the protection of the rights of servicemen. Then Umerov said that the appointment would be announced soon.
- On November 19, 2024, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he had instructed the Ministry of Defense and the military command to elect and appoint a military Ombudsman in the near future.
