The Agency’s report states that several artillery shells were hit outside the ZPEC, about 400 meters from the diesel storage site. After rupture of the shells, black smoke rose in three places near the station.
The observation mission has heard periodic explosions for almost two hours from 13:26 local time, including three powerful – around 2:30 pm. Shooting sounds were also recorded. Due to the dangerous situation, observers were unable to inspect the place of falling of shells, but they plan to do so on Wednesday morning if the situation will allow.
Direct language Grossi: “I have repeatedly called for maximum military restraint near nuclear power plants, and I do it again today. It has to stop until it is too late.”
Recall: Grossi at the meeting of the Council of Managers in Vienna reported that six of the seven key principles of nuclear security have been violated at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, there is only one working line outside the site, and this creates serious risks to security.
Earlier it was reported that experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency were not allowed to be released to the newly built dam on the channel of one of the Zaporizhzhya NPP cooler ponds.
The International Atomic Energy Agency captures the difficulties of ensuring reliable water supply to cool the reactors at the Zaporozhye NPP occupied by Russia.
“Six reactors are in a” cold stop “from the spring of 2024, but still require cooling water for safety systems, active areas of reactors and pools of exhausted fuel,” Maga reported.
On August 10, during the Russian attack on Zaporozhye, the external crisis center of Zaporizhzhya NPP was damaged
In July, the enemy struck the power lines that connects the temporarily occupied ZPP with the combined energy system of Ukraine and caused Blackout to station.
Subsequently, it was reported that the transmission lines that connect the Zaporizhzhya NPP with the energy system of Ukraine work steadily, providing reliable external power supply to the station to ensure radiation safety.
