The publication reminded that at the beginning of this year’s pumping season (April 17), the Ukrainian PSG stored nearly 5.41 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 35% or 2.95 billion cubic meters less than April 17, 2024. During the pumping season, Ukraine managed to completely reduce this gap, primarily by increasing imports.
Since the beginning of the pumping season, almost 6.68 billion cubic meters of gas have been pumped to Ukrainian PGG, 1.67 times more than in 2024. Also, more gas was pumped into storage during 2025 than it was stored in the PSG at the end of the heating season.
In particular, in September 2025, Ukraine pumps on an average of 53.9 million cubic meters of natural gas daily, 2.3 times more than in September 2024. About half of the pumping volume is an import resource.
The average daily import is 23.6 million cubic meters in September, which is almost all provided by the State NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
