The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that not only the fact of the meeting is shameful, but also Lukashenko’s statement about the occupied part of the Kherson region as a “new” new region “of Russia, willingness to promote the occupation regime and develop trade with the invaders.”
Ukrainian diplomats reminded that in accordance with the rules of international law, any equipment with occupation regimes are void and will have exclusively negative consequences for Belarus as a state.
“Ukraine reserves the right to adequately response to strengthen sanctions and deepen the international isolation of the Belarusian regime for unlawful actions,” the Foreign Ministry added.
On September 15, Oleksandr Lukashenko accepted in Minsk a representative of the Russian occupation administration temporarily occupied by the territories of Kherson region of Ukraine Volodymyr Saldo.
Oleksandr Lukashenko expressed his willingness to cooperate with the “new region” of Russia – Kherson region – in the field of agriculture and agricultural machinery. Belta State Information Agency reported that Lukashenko has invited the balance to get acquainted with Belarusian enterprises that could help the development of the region.
Since February 2022, Russian troops seized part of Kherson region.
The Kremlin appointed the balance to manage the passionate part of the Kherson region.
The balance announced the so -called referendum on the entry of Kherson region to the Russian Federation on September 20, 2022. In July 2025, the Ukrainian court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for organizing and holding a so -called referendum on the captured army of the Russian Federation of Kherson region.
