ITV has introduced two new TV channels filled with hit classic shows – and Christmas movies.

But the pair can’t be found in the usual way from your TV guide.

The first is called ITV 70 to mark the broadcaster’s 70th birthday.

ITV launched way back in 1955 as Independent Television and the first commercial broadcaster in the UK.

It began as a network of separate companies in different regions.

The new ITV 70 channel is showing some of ITV’s best loved productions from over years, with gems from Thames Television, Granada and beyond.

And for those who fancy delving further into ITV’s back catalogue, there’s a whole host of shows to watch from around the regions, including the news stories over the 70 years its on air.

But ITV is also getting festive early too with the return of its dedicated Christmas channel.

The move comes just weeks after the first Christmas channel from the Great! network burst back onto screens.

For those looking for some Christmas cheer early, ITV’s Xmas Movies channel is now available on ITVX.

ITV regularly rotates the line-up of streamed channels, so don’t expect these new additions to last forever.

Get more quality TV for free

If you’re tired of paying out on several streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ then there are a growing number of free alternatives around.

While many of these alternatives have been filled with obscure content, more big names like Sky have got on board in recent years offering some quality stuff, which is largely archive but still entertaining.

As well as UKTV, Sony and 5 are among the other players getting involved.

If you haven’t already, give Pluto TV a go, it’s available on pretty much all devices including Fire TV Sticks.

On there you’ll find channels from MTV, with Catfish and Geordie Shore.

Some of the classics are real gems too – I found myself watching long-forgotten episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch the other day.
