The case of Archer thermal imaging manufacturer is closed: Evidence was not found

NABU completed the investigation into the proceedings opened after searches from the manufacturer of thermal imaging sights Archer. According to the results of the investigation, a decision was made to close the case due to lack of evidence

“As a result of the investigation, there is no sufficient evidence that would indicate the presence in the actions of officials of the Ministry of Defense and Archer’s criminal offense,” the statement reads.

Law enforcement officers stressed that preliminary estimates did not always indicate a crime. At the same time, such investigations are allegedly helping to “improve internal procedures and control in the field of defense procurement.”

The basis for the beginning of the investigation was the materials of financial monitoring of one of the countries of the European Union.

In 2023, NABU detectives conducted searches in the offices and apartments of Archer workers. Then the bureau reported suspicion of a possible waste of almost UAH 200 million in the execution of defense contracts totaling about UAH 1.5 billion and delays in the supply of equipment for the Armed Forces.

Archer manager Oleksandr Yaremenko then stated that the accusations were unfounded, and during the searches, investigators seized equipment and documents that temporarily paralyzed the work of the enterprise.

The National Anti -Corruption Bureau conducted searches in offices and habitats of employees of the only manufacturer of chilled thermal imaging sights of Archer. The company’s work has been suspended.
