The direct language of Michael: “Russia is a serious threat to Europe, NATO and all the prudent countries of the world. We were even considered a little paranoid when we talked about threats from Russia (in the past). But now, everything we talked about in the Baltic, Poland and Scandinavia countries has become a reality.”

Details: He noted that the invasion of at least 19 Russian drones into Poland was the first case when NATO was “tested in the airspace.”

Michal expressed his belief that the Alliance’s reaction “convincingly passed”, but he believes that Europe is still far from the development of military force needed to restrain the Kremlin.

“Europe will take a long time to become much stronger. We are now at the beginning of the journey,” said Estonian Prime Minister.

In this context, he noted that in Estonia, which has a relatively small budget deficit and one of the lowest levels of public debt in Europe relative to the size of the economy, rapid re -equipment requires painful cost reductions and taxes.

Michal would also like European allies to combine their resources and jointly buy weapons to reduce costs.

Prehistory:

  • According to the latest data, fragments of Russian drones were found in 17 settlements in the territory of five Voivodeships of Poland, most of them – 10 – in the Lublin Voivodeship.
  • Against this background, the North Atlantic Alliance has decided to start an operation called “Eastern Sentry) to strengthen its eastern flank.
  • On September 14, Polish President Karol Navrotsky signed a decision that allows foreign military forces to stay in his country within EASTERN SENTRY.
  • And the Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorsky believes that the destruction of three to four of the 19 Russian drones in Polish air defense “by Ukrainian standards” could be considered a complete success.
