Media: Trump suggested that the European Union to introduce one hundred percent duties on import from China and India

The United States President Donald Trump has suggested that European countries impose high import duties on goods from China and India in order to convince Beijing and Delhi to reduce or abandon the procurement of Russian energy resources. This was reported by Financial Times, subsequently confirmed by the information CNBC and BBC.

According to President Trump, the United States will impose similar duties.

According to journalists, Trump’s proposal sounded during a telephone conversation with the EU delegation, which is now discussing in Washington with high -ranking white home representatives. Trump spoke about the possibility of introducing a 100 % import duty on goods from both countries.

According to the Financial Times in the White House, the President believes that “the obvious approach is the need to introduce impressive duties and support them until the Chinese refuse to buy oil.”

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko participated in the meeting of American and European persons, who called on participants to take decisive measures to deprive Russia of resources for war.

At the end of August President Trump has increased half – up to 50 percent – import duty on goods from India for refusing Delhi to reduce the purchases of Russian oil. Most Chinese goods are still charged with 30 percent duties. Donald Trump postponed the lifting of up to 145 percent on Chinese imports earlier, continuing trade talks with China.
