Albania has appointed the world’s first minister created by artificial intelligence – the media

Albania became history as the first state to introduce the position of “minister” developed through artificial intelligence. The information was published by Politico.

During a meeting of the Socialist Party in Tirana, its leader, Prime Minister Edie Rama, announced changes in the Cabinet of Ministers and presented a Dieella, a virtual assistant created on the basis of AI.

– Diella is the first member of the Government that exists not in physical form, but as a digital person, shared by artificial intelligence, – said Rama to participants of the meeting.

He explained that Diella (from Albanian – “Sunlight”) would later take over the management of public procurement to minimize the possibility of corruption schemes.

According to the Prime Minister, Albania will turn into a country where state tenders will be “absolutely impartial and all budget funds passing through them are fully open to society.”

Dieella was also projected through the E-Albania platform, which provides digital access to Albanian citizens to most state services. She was wrapped as a young woman in the national Albanian outfit.

Albania continues the systematic fight against corruption, in particular in the State Equipment and Procurement. This problem has repeatedly been indicated in the EU annual reports on compliance with legal rules. The state plans to become a member of the European Union by 2030.
