Details: The publication reports that last week, European countries received a message from the State Department that the United States is breaking the memorandums of mutual understanding, signed last year under the administration of the previous President Joe Biden, who aimed to form a unified approach to the detection and exposition of harmful information by these countries.

Memorandums were part of the initiative headed by the Global Center for Interaction (GEC), the State Department agency that was fighting misinformation distributed abroad by US opponents and terrorist groups.
James Rubin, who until December headed the Center, called this step a “unilateral act of disarmament” in the information war with Russia and China.

Details: Rubin estimates that over 22 European countries and Africa have signed agreements with the United States over the past year.
