Gullitt’s professional career began in 1978, when he signed his first professional contract with the Dutch Harlem. He made his debut at the age of 16, becoming the youngest player in the history of the Higher Division of the Netherlands.
In the first season, Garlel flew into the second division, but next year the team returned to the inward, and Rud was recognized as the best player of the competition.
The next two clubs in his career – Figenord and PSV – contributed to the development of the football player. It was in their warehouses that he won several internal trophies, and in 1984 was named the best player of the Netherlands.
Having gained experience at home and becoming one of the best players in the world, Rud decided to try himself in Italian football, namely in Milan. The contract between the parties was concluded in 1987, and the transfer amount then amounted to $ 8.9 million.
In the beginning, Gullite had adaptation problems because he did not know the Italian language and did not have experience of living abroad. Nevertheless, the Dutchman quickly became an important figure in Rossone. According to the results of 1987, Rud won the Golden Ball for his speeches for PSV and Milan.
As part of the Italian Grand Gulit, he won the Champions Cup twice (1988/89, 1989/90). In the finals of the 1988/89 season, he drawing a double at the Staua Gate (4: 0), and in the 1989/90 match he was marked with a effective transfer in a meeting against Benfika (1: 0).
After spending two years in Sampdoria (1993-1995), Rud decided to try his efforts in English football and joined the free agent’s rights to the Chelsea London. Although “pensioners” were then the middle of the English League, the Gullit himself confessed that for the first time in a long time he felt happy.
His transition also contributed to the development of English football, whose clubs were actively invited to star legionnaires at that time. This factor contributed to the growth of the APL as a football league.
In the international arena for the Netherlands national team, RUud spent 66 matches, scored 17 goals and gave 8 productive programs. In 1988 he became a European champion.
In a club career, Gullite took part in 576 duels, scoring 219 scored balls, 114 assistants and receiving 19 trophies:
