It is reported that the number of cryptodeclaners is increasing every year:
▪fe 2022 in 1.32 thousand declarations – by UAH 371 million;
▪fe 2023 in 1.71 thousand declarations – by UAH 526 million;
£ 2024 in 2.2 thousand declarations – by UAH 786 million.
The NAPC noted that cryptocurrency is one of the modern ways of storage and investing, but some declarants are trying to use it to “hide” illegally acquired wealth.
“The most common violation during the declaration of cryptocurrency is the inability to confirm its presence. Often officials declare significant crypto assets without giving confirmation of their reality: there are no verified cryptomamen addresses, exchange extracts or even scripts. Declaration of non -existent assets is a conscious violation that cannot be explained by inattention or ignorance with the rules, “the agency explained.
In addition to the declaration of unconfirmed assets, according to NAPC, a common type of violation is the submission of false data on real cryptocurrency assets.
“Often, declarants are focused on the market rate as of December 31 (the end of the reporting period), which is incorrect. According to the law, the declaration should indicate the value of the asset, based on the actual cost of its purchase. There are also cases of deliberate reduction of cost at the time of acquisition.”
As we wrote earlier, according to the OPENDABOT, the most active cryptocurrency was declared in 2024 by representatives of the National Police of Ukraine, and the most popular cryptocurrencies are Tether (USDT), Bitcoin (BTC, XBT) and Ethereum (ETH).
Employees of the National Police of Ukraine filed 322 declarations, which mention the crypt – 15% of all declarants. The prosecutor’s office is here, where cryptocurrency is stated in 240 declarations, then the judges – 227, city councils – 119, the Armed Forces – 77 and NABU – 38.
