This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We consider such actions as another attempt to legalize its occupation and consolidate illegal control over the Ukrainian territories,” the message reads.

The department explained that the said decision is a violation of fundamental norms and principles of international law, in particular: the UN Charter, which establishes the principle of sovereignty of states and prohibition of interference with their internal affairs, the UN Convention on the Maritime Right of 1982, which establishes that the regulation of the replacement of Ukraine is in the territorial waters. Ukraine’s sovereignty over all territories within its internationally recognized borders and strongly condemn the continuing Russian aggression.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that Ukraine calls for partners to impose additional rigid sanctions against all Russian individuals and legal entities, foreign companies, if they are involved in commercial activities in Berdyansk and Mariupol seaports, as well as vessels that will enter the ports of Ukraine.

The Ministry also called on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to respond immediately.

“We urge IMO to recommend Member States, within the framework of their national jurisdiction and international obligations, to take proper measures for vessels that violate the said regime. They are convinced that a gross violation of Russia’s international law on closed ports in the temporarily occupied territory Hard sanctions, “the foreign policy department noted.

Mariupol and Berdyansk – the decision ofAs reported by UNIAN, Russian invaders were added to the list of ports open to the event of foreign vessels, Ukrainian cities of Mariupol and Berdyansk. The order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. This, according to representatives of the so -called DNR, will allow the occupiers to export stolen products from Donbass and the occupied part of the Zaporozhye region.

The main nomenclature of the cargo of Mariupol port is metal, coal and grain. As for the Berdyansk port, according to the media, only last year more than 300,000 tons of robbed grain were illegally exported, and in the plans of the occupying “authorities” – an increase in the cargo circulation of the occupied Berdyansk port to 1.2 million tons per year until 2027.
