“Together, we focus on the launch of joint industries, in particular the creation of longitudinal drones. A corresponding letter of intentions for joint production of defense products in Lithuania and Ukraine was signed in Kyiv together with the Lithuanian National Defense Ministry of Lithuania, ”he wrote in the telegram on August 25.
According to Shmigal, it was about “specific prospects” of industrial cooperation, which are opened through a letter of intentions.
He added that the document creates new opportunities to start joint ventures, build Ukrainian companies in Lithuania and exchange technologies.
“He thanked the Lithuanian colleague for a visit and productive interaction. It is important that Lithuania will continue to direct 0.25% of its GDP for military assistance to Ukraine by 2027. This is a strong signal of long -term support for our soldiers. Focused on attracting additional funding for the purchase of weapons and development of the Ukrainian industry, ”Shmigal said.
On the eve, on the Independence Day of Ukraine, the Presidential Office of Ukraine reported that a defense forum was held in Kiev, for which nine ministers of defense of partner countries arrived.
Earlier this month, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said his country is ready to assist in the security guarantee of Ukraine.
