According to the regulator, on the right upper part on the back of the modified banknotes is a slogan – “Glory to Ukraine! Heroes are glory! ”But all other elements of design and protection of these banknotes meet banknotes with nominations of 20 UAH of the sample of 2018.
Citizens do not need to specifically exchange banknotes of 20 UAH of the previous sample for modified banknotes.
The NBU added that as a legal means they will be in circulation together with other banknotes of these denominations of previous years of issue and are obligatory for acceptance at their nominal value by all individuals and legal entities without any restrictions throughout Ukraine.
In August 2024, by the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, the National Bank released modified banknotes, supplementing their design with the slogan “Glory to Ukraine! Heroes Glory! ”. Modified banknotes of 50, 500 and 1000 UAH were introduced into circulation.
