Direct Language: “We cannot require Ukraine to think seriously about territorial concessions if it does not receive at least real security guarantees from as many states as possible that at least the rest (Ukrainian territory, ed.) Will be safe.”
Details: Vadeful expressed his hope that insisting on such guarantees would be able to persuade the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin. At the same time, he stressed that such guarantees will not pose a threat to Russia.
“Then it could be the basis for us to finally have peace in Europe,” the minister said.
The head of German diplomacy stressed that security guarantees for Ukraine should be provided not only by European countries. He urged to expand the range of guarantors and involve the US and other non-European countries in this process.
According to him, about 30 countries, including Japan, have already declared their readiness to support Ukraine.
At the same time, Vadeful warned that “a violation of security guarantee will be an attack on Ukraine.”
The Minister stressed that the peace treaty with Russia should not become a “dictatorial peace” to the detriment of Ukraine. He urged Putin to end the aggressive war and sit at the negotiation table.
“Otherwise, he should count with our decisive resistance on the side of Ukraine,” Vadeful warned.
