Details: Most Ukrainian -speaking traditionally in the west of Ukraine – 89%. Only 8% of residents of the region speak both languages, and 2% – Russian.

In the central regions, 65% replied that they speak Ukrainian at home, 28% – Ukrainian and Russian, 7% – Russian.
In the south, the most surveyed (44%) speak at home in two languages, 37% in Ukrainian, 18% – Russian.
Even in eastern Ukraine, more surveyed (28%) speak Ukrainian than Russian (26%), at the same time 44%said they spoke at home in both languages.

Asked if they have been spoken by the chosen language, whether they have recently changed their language, 93% of Ukrainians said they have been saying a long time and 7% – recently changed the language of communication.
Reference: The survey was conducted throughout the territory of Ukraine, except for the occupied territories, by a telephone interview using a computer (CATI), based on a random sample of mobile numbers. In total, 2400 residents of Ukraine aged 18 years and older were interviewed. The error for the assumption for simple accidental selection is 2.0 percentage points for full sampling.
