The Supervisory Board of the Joint Stock Company of NNEGC “Energoatom” dismissed Peter Kotin from the post of Acting the chairman of the company, reports the Telegram-channel NAEK.
It is noted that the perennial President of Energoatom is released at will.
“The Supervisory Board has granted Petro Kotin’s statement about the termination of powers. We are grateful to Mr. Kotin for decades of the company’s dedicated service and to ensure the safe and efficient operation of nuclear power plants and other energy facilities,” the statement said.
The Acting Chairman of the Board of Energoatom was appointed CEO of Rivne NPP Pavel Kovtonyuk. The Supervisory Board plans to start a competition for the posts of the Permanent Chairman of the Board of Energoatom in the near future.
Petro Kotin – What is knownPetro Kotin is an education engineer by education. He stood to the helm of Energoatom in 2020. He was appointed Acting President of the company. On May 31, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Petro Kotin by the President of the State Enterprise “NAEK” Energoatom “.
At the beginning of January 2024, in connection with the transformation of “Energoatom” into a joint -stock company Kotin was appointed Acting Chairman of the Board of the Company.
During the reign of Kotin, corruption scandals related to the activity of the enterprise regularly exploded. Thus, at the end of 2024, the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court arrested the counterparty of “Energoatom”, which is suspected of stealing 100 million UAH.

The companies, among other things, were thrown out of the purchase of gloves for temporarily occupied ZPP at inflated prices, but in Energoatom this cast was rejected.
At the beginning of January 2024, the National Agency for Corruption Prevention began checking Kotin’s lifestyle. It happened after the publication of the journalistic investigation, which stated that in 2023 the head of NAEK settled in an estate, which was estimated at 7 million hryvnias. According to the documents, he does not belong to him. It was officially acquired by the mother -in -law Kotin, who, according to journalists, had no money for it.
Khmelnitsky NPP is the main newsIn the same in 2024, Petro Kotin resuscitated the idea of completing two blocks at the Khmelnytsky NPP. It was planned to use two Bulgarian reactors of Russian production.
On February 26, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada, after long discussions, gave “green light” to the start of construction and seemingly overcome. Bulgaria’s authorities stated that the reactors would not sell, although the Ministry of Energy assured that it did not receive an official response.

However, during the presentation of the Government Action Plan, she said that progress has not been made. The Cabinet plans to start the completion of the KhNPP in 2026.
