“Ukraine and the countries around Russia are never aware of true normality. This condition will never be the way we imagined it and on the basis of which we built our future. Even if a truce or peace comes, Ukraine should always be ready for aggression in the future. The same can be felt by countries near Russia and its partners from Belarus – there is no doubt.
It is difficult to describe what I have been experiencing in the last days, and even months – since the discussion on what conditions the war should end. Many of my compatriots were forced to flee from their cities, from the places they loved. Today, these people are huge longing. Already at least the prospect of returning any territories sounds dramatic. It would be extremely unfair and unspeakably painful for Ukrainians. I do not know how the country can function if you imagine that some of our lands will be selected. But first of all, the war should stop. And this issue is solved by other countries and world leaders. We can only watch what is happening.
Greater Russia means even more opportunities for the aggressor to attack a few years when he believes that he has recovered enough. It is difficult to imagine a stable peace with the country of the dictator, even if you can reach some end of the war.
Leaders of European countries who have been strongly supported by Ukraine for many years continue to prove that they will do it in the future. First of all, these are the states that have accepted refugees from our country, and among them Poland is number one. You and other Baltic countries understand that Russia is a real threat. And believe me, Ukrainians value this support.
I very much expect that a person who says that he is able to find a solution for any conflict, really has a plan, how to do so in this case. I also hope that in front of the tyrant and dictator we will no longer unfold the red carpet, because for Ukrainians such pictures are absurd. But this is a political reality, and we can do anything with it. First of all, we thank you for the support of everyone who helps us. I hope the killings will be stopped and we will all be able to return to Ukraine and be happy in our country, ”Lesya said in an interview with Sportowe Fakty.
