At the same time, sociologists conducted an experiment when the respondents read different scenario conditions, and they learned afterwards their opinion, how likely Ukraine would become a prosperous country in the European Union in 10 years. These scenario conditions were:
- a scenario when Ukraine does not have reliable external security guarantees and should only resist its own forces;
- scenario when Europe provides stable support to Ukraine;

As it turned out, additional information about the need to lay on their own strength or stable support from Europe has practically not affected the probability of a flowering future in 10 years.
Regardless of the scenario conditions, half (51-55%) consider a successful future, and 39-49%, on the contrary, have pessimistic expectations.
Since October 2022, sociologists have observed a steady reduction in the proportion of those who share an optimistic view of Ukraine’s future. In December 2024, the majority (57%) still believed that in 10 years Ukraine would be a prosperous EU member country.
But between December 2024 and May-June 2025 there were fundamental changes in public sentiment, and only 43% optimically evaluated the country’s future. That is, now there is a certain increase in optimistic moods.
