“In the east of Poland, there was an incident with a Russian drone that fell and exploded on the night of August 20. The Minister of Defense Vladislav Kosinak-Kaysh called “provocation” by the Russian Federation”, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
“Russia again provokes NATO countries after incidents with drones in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia, as well as airspace in almost all NATO countries, especially in Scandinavia, Baltic States, as well as in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. Again, we are dealing with provocation by the Russian Federation with the use of Russian drone, ”Kosiniak-Kakysh said.
The minister stressed that the provocation took place “at a critical moment”-during an attempt to reach a ceasefire in Ukraine or even to complete the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The drone, according to the Polish Agency, fell on the corn field in the village of Osina of the Lublin Voivodeship. People were not injured, several homes knocked out windows.
Poland’s authorities have started an investigation into the event. At first it was unclear that it was the object that fell into the field. The explosion, metal and plastic debris, scattered for tens of meters, were found at the point of the explosion. The military stated that they did not record a violation of the airspace last night.
Since the beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian War, drones and missiles have repeatedly flew into the airspace of countries bordering the parties to the conflict. In particular, in November 2022 in the Polish village of Pshevodau on the border with Ukraine the rocket hit the elevator, resulting in killed two people.
Initially, the rocket was launched by Russia, but soon the Western countries came to the conclusion that it was most likely a Ukrainian air defense missile.
