It, in particular, states that “to achieve a just and long peace, the next step should be a joint step with Ukraine” and emphasizes that only Ukraine can make decisions on its future.
“Experience has shown that Putin cannot be trusted … Achieving a fair and long peace requires ceasefire. And reliable security guarantees for Ukraine. The peace agreement requires solid and specific obligations of transatlantic partners to protect Ukraine from any future aggression,” the signatories say.
They emphasize that “there should be no restrictions on the Armed Forces of Ukraine or its cooperation with other countries” and that Russia has no veto on the path of Ukraine to the EU and NATO. They also require Russia’s urgent return of children stolen from the occupied territories, as well as prisoners of war and civil prisoners.
Literally: “We will continue to equip Ukraine and strengthen Europe’s defense to restrain further Russian aggression. As long as Russia continues its killings, we will continue to strengthen sanctions and wider economic measures to put pressure on Russia’s military economy.”
Details: Zelensky posted a statement by the leaders of the North Baltic Eight countries on his social networks and thanked them for their support.
“All of these points are important to be able to be a truly sustainable and reliable peace. We see that Russia rejects numerous ceasefire requirements and still has not determined when it stopped murder. It complicates the situation. If they do not have the will to implement a simple order to stop blowing, it can be a lot of effort. The president noted.
He also added that coordination with partners continues all day, and there are conversations on Sunday on Sunday.
“We are preparing to meet Monday with President Trump. I am grateful for the invitation. It is important that everyone agrees that the conversation is at the level of leaders to find out all the details and determine what steps are needed and work,” Zelensky wrote.
