Russia lost 940 soldiers in the day of war – the General Staff of the Armed Forces

Russia does not officially disclose its losses. Moscow last called the number of killed in September 2022 – then declared 5937 dead.

Kyiv also did not voice losses for a long time, stating that the data would be disclosed after the war. On August 1, US President Donald Trump cited data on the loss of Ukraine and Russia in a full -scale war, which Moscow has been running since February 2022. “I have just been informed that nearly 20,000 Russian soldiers were killed this month in a senseless war with Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, Russia has lost 112.5 thousand soldiers … Ukraine, however, has also suffered. From January 1, 2025, she lost about 8,000 soldiers, and this number does not include missing missing, ”Trump wrote on TruthSocial, without specifying who gave him that data.
