Apple responded to Ilon Mask’s accusations of the App Store bias, saying that the platform is “honest and bias free.” In a comment to Bloomberg, the company explained that the advancement of applications is made through ratings, algorithmic recommendations and experts by objective criteria.

Musk, founder of XAI, accused Apple of “unconditional violation of antitrust legislation” because of the preferences for Openai. He threatened immediate legal actions and asked why Apple refuses to add X or his Grok chatbot to the Must Have section. Musk claims that X is “Annex # 1 for News in the World” and Grok is fifth among all applications. He suggested that the company was “playing politics”.

At the same time Musk did not provide evidence of his words. As noted, other OpenAi-related applications also reached top positions on the App Store: Chinese Deeeppeseek headed free-paying ratings in January, and Perplexity came first in India in July-after the Apple partnership was announced.

OpenAi CEO, Sam Altman, responded to the criticism of the mask, calling it “amazing”, because he heard the accusation that Musk himself was using X for his own benefit and harm to competitors. In response, Musk called him Scam Altman And he stated that he “lies as easy as he breathes.”
