In the territory where the Kakhovka reservoir was previously, a large -scale fire of dry reeds were recorded near the power units of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.
About it reports “Energoatom”.
The company emphasizes that the situation at the station remains extremely stressful through unprofessional management by the Russian occupation authorities, which systematically violates the requirements of nuclear, radiation and fire safety.
Fires at the ZPP have become systemic. On August 11, 2024, the hail No. 1 of the system of technical water supply of the station was completely burned, and on July 19, 2025, smoke was recorded as a result of a forest fire near the station.
The current ignition is especially dangerous because of the proximity to the critically important nuclear power plant infrastructure. The situation is constantly monitored by the crisis center of NNEGC “Energoatom”.
On June 5, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced another dangerous incident at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant occupied by Russia.
Earlier, we wrote that on June 3, Raphael Mariana Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Agency, arrived with a visit to Ukraine. He met with Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.
