David Chichkan was born in 1986 in the family of artists Ilya Chichkan and Tatiana Ilyakhova. He did not receive higher art education, consistently developed his own work as a tool of social and political criticism.
Chichkan viewed art as a means of changing and supporting the working classes, emphasizing that he creates work primarily for workers, and outlined himself with the word “drawingman”. In his activity, he used graphics, poster, painting, street art, performance and text.
Chichkan was anarcho-syndicalist and advocated decentralization and principles of solidarity.
“Anarchist beliefs are my escapism, a wonderful world and a pillow into an existential pit to fall softer,” he described his beliefs.
