Details: According to sources, the idea of holding a personal meeting in the UK arose during a videoconference between American, Ukrainian and European officials on Friday, August 8.

Ukraine and part of NATO Allies are concerned that Trump can agree to Putin without taking into account their positions.
On Wednesday, Trump held a telephone conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders to inform them about the results of the meeting of his specialist Steve Witcoff with Putin.
According to the newspaper, Vitcoff told the participants that Putin was ready to finish the war if Ukraine agrees to give the Lugansk and Donetsk region, as well as Crimea.
According to sources, at least some of the participants of the call came to the conclusion that Putin also agrees to give up claims on partially occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. However, the next day, during another video conference with high -ranking officials of Ukraine and Europe, Vitcoff specified that Putin agreed only to freeze Russia’s current positions in these regions.
Ukrainian officials say they do not fully understand the details of the Russian proposal and the position of the United States.
One of the representatives of Ukraine reported Axios that even if Zelensky agrees to Putin’s demands, he would have to declare a referendum because he cannot give territory under the Constitution of Ukraine.
