“Look, President Trump keeps all the options open – both for sanctions and tariffs – to stop this horrific war in Russia. President Trump is President of Peace. He wants this horrible conflict to be completed.
It is worth recalling that the term of Donald Trump’s ultimatum has expired today, after which he promised to impose sanctions against Russia and its trading partners. However, due to the change of the agenda, which happened because of the announcement of Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin, the sanctions were no longer mentioned today.
Sanctions against the Russian FederationFinnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said that Trump should continue to impose new sanctions against the Russian Federation, as it will help end the war in Ukraine.
Putin and Trump are expected to meet next week, which increases the chances that new sanctions can be postponed or canceled. However, the White House Representative said that despite the latest diplomatic events, secondary sanctions against the countries that are doing business with the Russian Federation would still take effect from Friday.
