In the fall of 2016, the Platinum Bank expired and it was necessary to either bring it from the market or return it to the market. The bank had three main problems – the quality of assets related to lending and property structure. But did not notice that Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova.
The lawyer, former director of the National Bank of Ukraine on registration issues and licensing, the chairman of the Qualification Commission and the Supervision Committee Alexander Zavadetsky in an interview for UA.news told about it.
“I remember that the violation of the standard of lending to platinum was no less than, for example, in Privat, and in essence they were similar. At the same time, it was almost the last bank in the market with an opaque property structure. And most importantly, according to information from open sources (it is even available), the Russian oligarch and “arms baron” with Kesayev’s name could have to control the bank. In such circumstances, I was strongly opposed to the return of the bank to the market, and directly spoke about it Rozhkova, ”Zavadetsky said.
The solution was such that the lawyer was released from the NBU and a few days after that the documents on the return of the bank to the market were signed by one of its assemblies, Alexander Bevz.
“Bankers remember what was with the platinum bank. He collected several hundred million hryvnias of deposits, appropriated the money of two large state -owned enterprises, and was withdrawn from the market, transferring the financial burden to the guarantee fund, ”Zavadetsky reminds.
We will remind that the first deputy chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova says goodbye to the position on Friday, August 8.
The NBU confirmed the future of Catherine Rozhkova.
The NBU also plans to change the rules for transferring funds without opening accounts.
