Details: The incident happened in the Polish village of Domavav. According to police, the monument was damaged on Wednesday, August 6.

On the monument to the victims of the Volyn tragedy, unknown painted a red and black flag and wrote “Glory of the UPA”.
The Polish police are investigating the circumstances of vandalism and searching for the perpetrators.
It should be noted that the Polish Sejm recently introduced the Day of Remembrance of Ethnic Purre in Volyn as a Day of Remembrance of the Victims of “Genocide, committed by the OUN and the UPA in the eastern territories of the Second Polish Republic”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine criticized this step.

In early June, the Polish-Ukrainian team began search and exhumation work in order to reburry Polish soldiers who died at the beginning of World War II.
In June, the Ministry of Culture reported that Ukraine granted permission to the Polish side to carry out exhumation works in the former territory of the village of Zboyskaya, which is now within Lviv.
