True patriotism is not measured by external symbols, the artist believes.
Sofia Rotaru lives in Ukraine, said Krasovsky / UNIAN photoSinger Sofia Rotaru has done a lot for culture and is not obliged to demonstrate patriotism for display.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with Oboz.ua by Honored Artist of Ukraine Ivan Krasovsky, who lives in the United States, thus supporting the performer against the backdrop of criticism through her silence about the war in Ukraine.
According to the artist, Rotaru now lives in Ukraine and simply is not used to public statements.
“I know that Sofia Rotaru in Ukraine, because I communicate with her friend who lives in the United States. She stayed in Italy for two years, but could not live there. Sofia Rotaru was always a careful personality. She did not act for someone and so much for culture (not only Ukrainian but also world).”
In his opinion, true patriotism is not measured by external symbols:
“There are people who shout about love for Ukraine, and I have no embroidery, for example. As for me, Ukraine should be in my heart, not in embroidery.”
Since the beginning of the full -scale war, Sofia Rotaru has avoided public comments on Russia’s invasion. From time to time, it is shared in social networks with photographs related to shelling or events in Ukraine, which causes a different reaction from the public.
