Briton James Gowells, whose hard drive from 7500 BTC was in the landfill, announced the release of a token that will consolidate his rights to lost assets.

According to Gowels, Ceiniog Coin (Ini) will appear at the end of 2025. The total issue is 800 billion tokens, each of which will be tied to one Satoshi (0.00000001 BTC).
“The goal is to create a CEINIOG ecosystem and to launch a high-speed scaffold Web3 for rapid confirmation payments, protected by Bitcoin blockchain and 8000 BTC,” Gowels said in a comment on Block.
In 2013, the British accidentally threw away a disk with bitcoins, which he extracted in the first half of 2010s. At the current rate, it is about $ 857 million. The device was in the landfill in Newport, Wales.

He repeatedly tried to obtain excavation permission, offered the City Council $ 72 million, presented a plan with the use of AI and wanted to use the work of Boston Dynamics.
However, the authorities denied legal and environmental risks. Experts evaluated the chances of finding a disc in 0.00000011%.
This did not stop Gowels: he appealed to the High Judgment of the United Kingdom. The court recognized the ownership of crypto assets, but rejected the claim against the Newport Council for £ 495 million.

In February, the authorities announced the dumping. Gowells declared its intention to buy part of the land and offered $ 33-40 million, but never received the answer.
“I no longer try to buy a dump, I do not engage in excavations or reclamation, and I stop any negotiations with the Council and its representatives,” he stressed.
Recall that in April, the American company Lebul has received exclusive rights to create a series by Gowels history.
