Zelensky instructed to “significantly increase” direct funding for brigades for the purchase of drones

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, as a result of meetings with military command, with government officials, as well as the rates of the Supreme Commander, said that he had instructed to “significantly increase” direct funding for brigades for the purchase of drones.

“There is money for it,” he wrote in a telegram.

In addition, according to the President, it was about “things to be implemented” for more effective training in training centers. “This applies to both combat training and psychological, motivational. There should be more real combat experience of this war in the preparation of soldiers, ”Zelensky said.

“Third – and most of the crews say it is much more opportunity to buy pickups. That is, there should be simplification of procedures and direct funding for units in the same way as for the purchase of drones. There should be a real opportunity for our soldiers to buy exactly the machines they need, just as it will be the fastest, ”he added.

According to Zelensky, it was also discussed about the expansion of the contract program 18-24.

“Some options have been discussed today, including the increase in the age and circumstances in which such a contract format can be concluded. The Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and the Office team must present the details to the public. And the fifth is a sensitive issue of delaying the implementation of awarding decisions. Unfortunately, there are many cases where our warriors from various components of defense forces have been waiting for state awards for months, and this is solely through cumbersome bureaucratic procedures. He instructed the maximum reduction of document circulation, the number of different signatures and approvals. It is also necessary to digest this area as well, ”the President said.

Zelensky added that on Monday he expects from the NSDC Secretary, the Ministry of Defense, the Commander -in -Chief, the General Staff and the office of the reports on decisions.

On July 18, Zelensky instructed the newly appointed Defense Minister Denis Shmigal “Urgently” to conclude all the contracts for the drones required by the Defense Forces of Ukraine. He also reported plans to “reach the number of 500-1000 interceptors per day”.
