Details: According to him, Moldovan officials noticed a sharp increase in misinformation aimed at almost a quarter of a million voters living in the Diaspora.

“Russia and its proxy are now actively focusing on the Moldovan Diaspora,” he said.
In particular, he pointed to the renewal of the Kremlin’s “Matryoshka” network. The tactics are to create fake media and use them to spread false messages.
“The campaign is aimed at reducing the activity of voters from the diaspora – prompting them to stay at home – and to manipulate those who will still come to the polls, in order to push them to support a false pro -European force,” the secretion said.
He added that fake reports are being created, designed to undermine the confidence in Moldova’s democratic institutes and to sow discord among Moldovan communities abroad.
The presidential advisor suggests that during the voting on September 28, there may be a violation similar to those observed during the previous elections.
“For example, fake reports of polling stations in European cities or staged protests abroad to give the impression of dissatisfaction,” said the secretion, adding that other countries should strengthen monitoring and respond to any attempts to influence, during and after elections.
