She noted that this was made possible by the synergy of three factors – “the voice of civil society, mainly” Generation Z “in squares, intense and difficult backstream negotiations far from cameras and the ability of leaders to self -reflection in the interests of their country.”
The ambassador noted that although the most “visible” protests were protests, the quiet diplomatic work was equally intense.
“I was there. And I will never stop being grateful for this occasion. Because friends are written here. It took a lot of efforts, conviction, creative decisions – and it was worth it,” Mernova said.
She noted that the President of Zelensky and the Council deserve respect for hearing criticism, have made a new bill and ensured his trouble -free consideration, and political forces – for finding 331 votes “for”.
“Today, Ukraine needs institutions that people can trust. And the EU needs a partner who can trust and rely on it. This week we have been one step closer to both of them.
Recall:
- On July 31, the Verkhovna Rada quickly reviewed the Presidential Bill to correct the situation with NABU and the SAP, which was formed after the scandalous law, which depended on the prosecutor general.
- 331 MPs voted in favor of the project – all those who participated in the vote. 9 more did not vote.
- The European Commissioner for the Extension of Martha Kos after voting in the Council congratulated his result, but noted that the “challenges remain”.
- There were also signals that the Babs selected at the competition may be appointed next week.
See in the video blog “Euro truth” that you will have to do Zelensky for Europe to “forgive” NABU attack.
