Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin said that the disconnection of mobile Internet is a “necessary event” due to attacks of Ukrainian drones. He said this during a speech to the deputies of the regional legislative assembly, reports Nn.ru.

“I would like to turn to the guests of our city, tourists and (ask them) to understand, to perceive it as a wellness procedure, a detox. We have the Internet, but on the wire channels and Wi-Fi, ”Nikitin said.

He added that he would have to “discomfort” in order to ensure that the residents are “safe”.

At the disruption with the mobile Internet, residents of Nizhny Novgorod and the region began to complain on June 27. They said they could not use navigation, messengers, banking programs and other online services.

In recent months, in different regions of Russia have begun to temporarily disable mobile Internet. This happens against the backdrop of massive attacks of Ukrainian drones.
