The event happened on the evening of April 16 near a residential complex in Solomenskyi district. The 69-year-old journalist stated that he had been attacked by an unknown and hit him with a knife, he was injured in the rib and hand.
During the investigation, the police watched the records from the cameras, interviewed possible witnesses and conducted an investigative experiment. It was possible to find out that there was no one near the journalist at the time of the injury.
Also, a knife was found nearby, which could be an instrument of crime. Expertise showed that they have only the DNA of the victim himself, and this indicates that the wounds were inflicted on their own.
In addition, the journalist underwent a psychiatric examination, which confirmed that Makarov was in a state of intense stress, which could have influenced his behavior. The journalist agreed with the results of the examination, so law enforcement officers closed the case.
