Details: IN Bypol It is claimed that the journalist was a personal enemy of Lukashenko.

The aversion between them began in 1997, when the journalist illuminated smuggling and miserable at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

Also, the source from the power structures provided exclusive information about the possible involvement of the special units of the KGB of Belarus in this case.

Yes, the interlocutor called one of the possible participants in the crime. This is Vyacheslav Sidoracin. His name sounded in the movie “Mankur’s Operation. Part 2”. Sidoracin helped the KGB officer to escape from Belarus with the archive of secret documents.

The name of Yuri Garkach, another employee of the Belarusian Special Forces of Alfa, KGB, who was sentenced in 2022 for illegal actions with weapons for 4 years of imprisonment, also sounds in the investigation.

In the spring of 2012, the KGB Chairman Vadim Zaitsev appointed his assistant from the special tasks of the officer of the special unit of the KGB “Alfa” Yuri Garkach. Gorkach reported directly to him. From the garage “Alfa” they were allocated a service car – black BMW X5. He was also allocated a separate office in the central building of the KGB headquarters with access to the operational database.

On the basis of the Alfa unit, Garkach created a special department to perform special tasks of the KGB chairman. Sidorakina was expected to be recruited to this department with Alfa sniper Alexander Zaitsev, the son of the KGB head of Belarus.

Garkach group had to carry out business trips to accomplish special tasks abroad. The money was allocated for this through the first Main Department of External Intelligence of the KGB of Belarus.

Ivan Sanko, who was friends with Vadim Zaitsev at that time, helped for legal advice on the execution of the orders of Garkachu at that time.

Somewhere in May-June 2012, Zaitsev gave Garkach a $ 15,000 in cash for completing a trip to Russia on BMW X5 in a group of five people to Moscow. They returned from Russia in a few days. Theoretically, the group could go for Sheremet intelligence. From 2012 to 2015, Sheremet actually lived in two countries – the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

Garkach traveled to Ukraine from August 30 to September 13, 2013, Sanko – from August 20 to September 2, 2012 and from August 4 to August 15, 2013, Zaitsev from July 4 to July 27, 2012 and from September 29 to October 3, 2013. Sidorakin traveled to Ukraine three times in 2016: from March 13 to 17, from April 13 to April 17 and from June 9 to June 12.

The initiative emphasizes that a man who was noticed at night near Sheremet’s car is visually similar to Sidoracin, and a woman next to him on Tatiana Kozlov, who since 2000 also served in the special unit “Diamond” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. Although the border woman with Ukraine has not been officially crossed since 2012.

Bypol is an initiative created by former police officers who do not support Lukashenko’s regime. In their investigation, they rely on documents, witnesses and open sources.

Prehistory:

  • One of the heads of “Ukrainian Truth” Pavel Sheremet died from the explosion on the morning of July 20, 2016. He was put out the explosive under the car.
  • In 2017, journalists released their own investigation, which found that under the house where Sheremet lived, there were suspicious cars on the night when explosives were laid under the car. The driver of one of them was the former SBU employee Igor Ustimenko. In addition, security staff “cleaned” one of the servers from a video near the Sheremet House.
  • The probable murder customers were not named. The investigation into them is separated into another case and continues.
