The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the GRP on July 22.
The commission will include representatives of the Council of Judges, the Council of Prosecutors, the Council of Advocates and the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. GRP Chairman Hryhoriy Usyk did not mention the participation of international experts in the formation of the commission.
Bihus.info journalists and the dejure human rights organization have expressed concern because the institutions that have been delegating candidates related to persons who have blocked judicial reform for years. In their opinion, this can lead to the preservation of the effects of unscrupulous elites and the return of background appointments in the judicial system.
Against this background, the Verkhovna Rada entered the Bill No. 13382, which proposes to return international experts to the competition commission and to introduce a transparent procedure for the selection of members of the CCCS.
