The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that Parliament will consider the bill of President Vladimir Zelensky on the independence of NABU and SAP on July 31.

“Meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on consideration of the urgent presidential bill” On amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and some legislative acts of Ukraine on strengthening the powers of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office “(Registration No. 13533) will take place on July 31.
“When considering this bill, I will propose to accept it immediately as a whole and as a whole, as well as to support its urgent signing. In addition, Parliament will consider other important legislative initiatives, ”the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada said.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine stated that the new law provides for a lie detector for law enforcement officers and anti -corruption officers who have relatives in Russia. Such an initiative is intended to protect state institutions from potential influence by aggressor country.
We will remind, on July 22 Zelensky signed a law that limits the authority of NABU and SAP and expands the functions of the Prosecutor General. This caused a wave of protests and became the object of manipulation by Russian propaganda.
