Details: Lazarenko confirmed that from July 16 to July 20, as a result of a technical accident at the Dubossar hydroelectric power station, there was a limited discharge of water into the Dniester River, which led to a decrease in water levels below the stream.

From July 21, the hydroelectric power plant returned to normal runoff, which allowed to gradually restore the usual seasonal indicators.
At the same time, the National Academy of Water Resources of Moldova appealed to partners from Ukraine that manage the Dniester hydroelectric power station, to increase the discharge of water during the heat “to ensure a stable hydrological regime”.
At the same time, the Minister of the Environment of Moldova noted that all irrigation stations located on the Dniester, and a pumping station, which provides Kishinov water, operate in normal mode, and the water level in the Dniester meets seasonal standards.
The Dniester is important for Moldova’s energy supply by the river, and the country’s authorities have previously turned to Kiev while falling there.
It is also known that Ukraine and Moldova are planning to build a bridge through the Dniester in a few years.
