According to anti -corruption bodies, the SAP prosecutor has decided to complete the pre -trial investigation in the case of the Head of the Sector of the Department of Protection of the National Statehood of the SBU and two other other persons.
The investigation found that the suspected unit executed an assignment for the procedural actions of the investigative chief investigative department of the National Police of Ukraine in criminal proceedings upon the organization of the illegal channel of crossing the state border in order to transport persons who evade the conscription to the Armed Forces.
With the participation of two intermediaries, one of whom is a former SBU employee, the head of the sector demanded $ 300,000 from the person involved in the case – for the destruction of part of the case file, disclosure to him already established circumstances.
Investigators documented the fact of receiving a part of the specified funds by the person – $ 72,000. After that, the action of the current SBU employee was qualified under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, its accomplices – under Part 5 of Art. 27, Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (this article refers to “acceptance of a proposal, promise or receipt of undue benefit by an official”).
The Security Service of Ukraine declared a message from NABU and the SAP, which was discussed in 2024. The intelligence service claims that its employee was exposed by the Main Department of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine and investigators of the National Police. After that, criminal proceedings were transferred to the DBR, and “later, given the large amount of bribe – to the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.”
On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada supported the Law No. 12414, which, as it was reported, limits the independence of NABU and SAP. 263 MPs voted in favor.
After that, NABU Chairman Semen Krivonos urged the President of Ukraine to veto the bill.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee on Anti -Corruption Policy of the Verkhovna Rada Anastasia Radina from the “Servant of the People” faction stated that the bill 12414 made the SAP “decorative institution and provides for a complete dependence of NABU and SAP on the will of the Prosecutor General.”
This happens after 70 searches conducted on July 21 by the SBU, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor General’s Office against the Bureau staff.
