NABU responded to resonant cases against the staff of the department who received suspicions after an accident, which occurred in 2021 and 2023. The department noted that the participants of the accident not only did not evade responsibility, but also contributed to the maximum investigation.

“There are three separate road accidents that took place in 2021 (two events) and 2023 (one event). In each case, NABU employees immediately after the event provided the victims, called an ambulance, police and reported the relevant authorities. This is duly recorded and confirmed by the conclusions of official investigations conducted by the NABU Internal Control Department, ”the message reads.
NABU emphasized that employees did not use the official position in their favor and did not try to avoid responsibility. At the request of the investigation, they maximally contributed to the establishment of the circumstances of the accident and provided all the necessary explanations and documents.
“In view of these circumstances, it seems unclear both to conduct mass searches on the facts of events that took place two or four years ago, as well as initiating requests for precautions in the form of non-alternative detention. At the same time, the requests for the removal of all three employees were filed, despite the lack of risks of influence on the investigation, ”the department said.
The bureau emphasized that procedural decisions should be based on the principles of lawfulness, validity and proportionality.
We will remind, the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicion to three employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine in connection with road accidents, which led to serious injuries of the victims.
We will remind, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted an unscheduled inspection in the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, without warning the National Anti -Corruption Bureau, as required by law.
The SBU also exposed the head of NABU detectives on cooperation with the Russian Federation.
