In the Ukrainian market, the era of cheap food has finally ended – manufacturers emphasize that no products can now be considered “cheap”, in particular, it concerns fruits and vegetables.
The President of the Ukrainian Fruit and Economy Association Taras Bashtannik explained that a significant rise in price is caused by increasing cost, lack of labor and difficult weather conditions this season.
Bashtannik noted that this year, all positions increased in price, and influenced it, in particular, the crop: many farmers raised twice less products than the years, but prices reached recordings at the same time.
According to the expert, only 5-10% of manufacturers were able to earn additional profits, all others did not win financially because of the cost.
In this case, pricing, as before, depends entirely on supply and demand – for how much they are ready to buy, for as many and sell.
Recall that consumer prices in the capital in June increased by 0.5 %compared to May, while in Ukraine this figure is slightly higher – 0.8 %.
Ukrzaliznytsia will also raise prices for tea, water and other goods on trains.
