The worlds of politics and entertainment are reacting with shock over the surprise announcement that CBS’ ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ will come to an end. On Thursday, CBS and host Colbert said the show will end its run in May 2026. In a statement, CBS said the cancellation was, quote, “purely a financial decision” made in a declining linear TV landscape.
