The girl disappeared last Friday, July 4. Her hotel rooms found a phone, a passport and a sheet with several mobile numbers. Shortly before the disappearance, she transferred a certain amount of money to her brother.
At first, the Italian law enforcement officers believed that Bugayova decided to escape, because shortly before the disappearance she learned that her internship in Italy would end on July 6 without the possibility of continuation – while many other students remained until September.
The Ukrainian was also noticed on video surveillance cameras near the internship. Of these, it was clear that Bugayov was heading to the beach and then her traces disappeared.
On Tuesday, it became known that the body of an 18-year-old girl was found a kilometer from the tourist village where she trained. According to preliminary data, it was found hanged.
At present, Italian law enforcement officers have not publicly commented on how they qualify the situation.
