On this day, July 7, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Nature Reserve. Introduced by the Presidential Decree Viktor Yushchenko No. 629/2009 of August 18, 2009 at the relevant initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
As a prerequisite for the introduction of this day as a professional holiday, the Presidential Decree notes a significant contribution of employees of the nature reserve business to the preservation and restoration of biological and landscape diversity, the development of territories and objects of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine.
